Mavra Mesanychta (Μαύρα Μεσάνυχτα)[1] it is a Greek series that was broadcast at Mega Channel. The writer of this black comedy is the actor and also writer Vasilis Risvas(Βασίλης Ρίσβας) which has one of main role in the comedy and the writer Demeter Sakalis (Δήμητρα Σακαλή).

The director of the series was Panos Kokkinopoulos (Πάνος Κοκκινόπουλος), at the music production is Marios Strofalis (Μάριος Στρόφαλης) and producer Bessie Voudouris (Μπέσυ Βουδούρη).

Panos Kokkinopoulos after many years of cooperation with Alpha TV he directed the successful series Mavra Mesanychta (Μαύρα Μεσάνυχτα) choosing actors that had worked with him in the past like Stelios Mainas (Στέλιος Μάινας), Panagiota Vlanti (Παναγιώτα Βλαντή), Bessy Malfa (Μπέσυ Μάλφα), Gerasimos Skiadaresis ( Γεράσιμος Σκιαδαρέσης) which are the stars of the series.

The music director Kyriakos Papadopoulos (Κυριάκος Παπαδόπουλος) is the one that wrote the music of the track which is the song of the series. The lyrics wrote the pop star Thirio (Θηρίο) which also interprets with singer Maria Iacovou(Μαρία Ιακώβου) that also has a small part in the series. The song of the series became a big success in Greece which was one of the reasons why ti became so popular to the viewers.

The Production manager in the series was Dimitrios Katsaros (Δημήτρης Κατσαρός), the head of stage design Giannis Duma (Giannis Duma), Costume Design Iliostalachti Vavouli (Ηλιοστάλαχτη Βαβούλη), Director of Photography was Kostas Palmas ( Κώστας Πάλμας), Montage Giannis Maris (Γιάννης Μαρής) and Executive Producer was Frenzy Films.

Plot

Mavra Mesanychta.[2] is a black comedy that shows how can a man from a sheep gets to become a wolf, how money and power can change the people or make them change because they don't have a choice, to show how far can people go and what they are willing to do and what they are willing to lost in order to achieve what they want no matter the cost they have to pay. It shows the true face of the underworld what really happens and most people don't know about it or they don't want to. It is an anxious comedy but also very funny.

Story Theme

The story of Mavra Mesanychta talks about mafia and family, kitsch and glamor one of the biggest and subversive scripts that was ever written in the Greek television.

Everything started when Thrasos,[3] a peaceable breadwinner inherits the fortune of his brother a man of night and owner of a nightclub that was killed from a bomb in his car. Thrasos suddenly from a low abiding citizen became the boss with the 95% of a big nightclub and one of the main heads of the underworld without his will.

Thrasos didn't want to take his brothers fortune because of the fear that he might end up just like his brother but his wife Lena thirsty for money and luxuries had other plans and made his accept the fortune. The ambitious Silvy though, the lover of Thrasos 's brother for many years received only 5% of the nightclub. Silvy with the 5% of the nightclub wasn't satisfied that's why she will do whatever he can to take the power on her own hands. In all that Thrasos will have to deal with circumstances that are be on his hands he will start having problems at work, buy off corrupt police officers take decisions he doesn't want to, and in all that he will start losing his family with the decisions he has made.
