Melanie Camp[1] is an Australian actress based in Los Angeles. One of five children, Camp grew up in Perth, Western Australia.
Career
Camp's entertainment career began in Muswellbrook, New South Wales as the station copywriter and afternoon announcer on Power FM 98.1. She has worked consistently in both radio and television ever since. For over five seasons she was a regular on Channel 7 Perth TVW,[2] Perth's Home in WA,[3] and hosted many TV specials for the station including the game show 'Finders Keepers' and 'Our WA' travel specials.
As a radio announcer, Camp worked for stations that include DMG's Nova 937 and Austereo's 2Day FM and 92.9. Camp was the host of the late night number 1 rating 'Australia's Most Wanted' countdown.[citation needed]
Camp was in the movie, Action Hero[4] with Brian Thompson and she recently[when?] starred in the web series "Life on the ENG"[5] with Shelley Michelle who was the uncredited body double for Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman.
Camp played Dorothy in ‘True Blood’[6] she can be seen in Ep 503 "Whatever I Am, You Made Me". She was in the feature; ‘Sincerely Forever’ and made a scene stealing cameo as Sprinkles in the gangster spoof ‘Hit Team’. She is a member of the fake band TigerTripp. Their single "The Ice Cream Song"[7] was released in October 2014 and the music video had over 70,000 views on YouTube.
