Melanie Scrofano is a Canadian actress. She is known for playing the roles of Rebecca on the CBC dramedy series Being Erica, October on the Showcase comedy mockumentary series Pure Pwnage, and Tia on the CTV Television Network fantasy drama series The Listener.[2] Scrofano has played the lead role on Syfy's modern Western drama Wynonna Earp since 2016.[3][4]

Personal life

Scrofano grew up in Ottawa, Ontario.[5] Her father is an engineer and her mother is a government worker. She is of Italian and French-Canadian descent. She began modeling at the age of 13, and picked up acting when her agent began submitting her for acting jobs.[6]

It was revealed in a July 2017 Variety article that Scrofano was pregnant for the duration of filming the second season of Wynonna Earp. She gave birth to a son in April 2017, shortly after production on the series had wrapped.[7][8]
