Untitled

Merzbox is a box-set of CDs by Japanese noise musician Merzbow, released in 2000 by Extreme Records. The set consists of 50 CDs, spanning Merzbow's career from 1979 to 1997. Thirty CDs are reissues from LP, CD and Tape and the remaining twenty CDs are previously unreleased albums. The Merzbox also contains a t-shirt, posters, book, medallion, and two CD-ROMs. It is encased in a custom designed leather fetish box and limited to 1000 copies.

Limited editions of the Merzbox also feature two bonus CDs featuring Merzbow's collaborations with Eugene Thacker and Shane Fahey (of Social Interiors and The Makers Of The Dead Travel Fast) and extra posters.

In 2002, Georgia Tech student radio station WREK 91.1 FM aired the Merzbox in its entirety from December 17 to December 19. [1] An article in Creative Loafing described the Merzbow Marathon as "what may be the most obscure and counterintuitive move in the history of radio".
