Michael Sugar

Michael Sugar is an American film and television producer, best known for producing Spotlight, and The Fifth Estate.

Early and personal life

Sugar is a graduated from Georgetown University in law. He is the son of producer distributor Larry Sugar, and is married to Catherine Sugar, former Head of TV Biz Affairs at the William Morris Endeavor and Endeavor.[1][2]

Career

Sugar is partner and producer at Los Angeles based production company Anonymous Content.[3]

In 2015, Sugar produced the biographical drama film Spotlight starring Mark Ruffalo, which Tom McCarthy directed. He received an Academy Award nomination for the film for Best Picture at the 88th Academy Awards along with Steve Golin, Nicole Rocklin and Blye Pagon Faust.[4]
