Seyed Mojtaba Vahedi is an influential Iranian reformist politician, opposition movement activist in Iran, democracy activist, journalist, and senior advisor to opposition cleric Mehdi Karroubi. He served as chief of staff to Karroubi since 1982. He was editor-in-chief of reformist newspaper Aftab Yazd from 2000 until January 2010, when he resigned to keep the newspaper from being closed.[1][2]
