Molchat Doma (Russian: Молчат Дома IPA: [mɐlˈt͡ɕat ˈdomə]; English: "Silent at Home")[2] is a Belarusian rock band from Minsk, formed in 2017. Their sound combines the elements of post-punk, new wave, and synth-pop.[3][4]

History

Molchat Doma was influenced by 80's Russian rock from the perestroika era, most notably Kino.[5] They first signed to German independent label Detriti Records and released their debut studio album, С крыш наших домов, in April 2017.[6] The following year, the band released their second album, Этажи, also through Detriri. In January 2020, the band signed with American independent label Sacred Bones Records, who later reissued their first two albums on vinyl in North America. The band will tour in North America for the first time, alongside American singer-songwriter Chrysta Bell.[2]
