Montagu Stone-Wigg

The Rt Rev Montagu John Stone-Wigg was an Anglican Colonial Bishop who in the last decade of the 19th century and the first one of the 20th.
He was born on 4 October 1861[1] and educated at Winchester and University College, Oxford.[2] Ordained in 1885,[3] after curacies in Westminster Hammersmith he went to Brisbane in 1889 to be the Sub dean of St John's cathedral. Two years later he became a Canon[4] and in 1898 he the inaugural Bishop of New Guinea.
He died on 16 October 1918.[5]
