It is Northwestern Ohio's first full time religious broadcasting radio station. It features a variety of Christian talk and teaching programs as well as Southern Gospel and other Adult Contemporary Christian music. '''WMBI''', the flagship station of the Moody Broadcasting Network, got its start seemingly by accident. A violent storm in October 1925 prevented the talent for '''WGES'''' scheduled broadcast from performing on the radio. This opened the door for two cornet-playing Moody Bible Institute (MBI) students, who happened to be on-site and could fill the time slot. Few would have thought this “chance-encounter” would result in a weekly show and less than a year later help to launch WMBI, the oldest, most renowned Christian radio station in the country. In spite of changing technology, audiences and formats, the station has maintained a familiar presence on the air for eight decades.


The radio station is unique among Christian broadcasters in that it also operates a Christian Activities Center (circa 1982) that serves a wide variety of purposes. The large building contains a gymnasium that also doubles as a concert hall. WPOS also has a smaller meeting place and a complete kitchen facility. WPOS hosts many Southern Gospel Acts and Artists in their Christian Center throughout the year.
This station was just the beginning of what would come to be known as the Moody Broadcasting Network. In 1958, MBI purchased '''WCRF''' in [[Cleveland, Ohio]] and shortly thereafter, '''WDLM''' in [[Moline, Illinois]]. These purchases were the catalyst for a network that would grow to include 35 stations in the continental U.S. By the end of the 1960s, the network’s potential audience had increased to 30 million listeners. In 1982, MBN began a satellite-fed network enabling communications across America.


The facility is also used as a gym for home schoolers. And other conferences and meetings are hosted by WPOS-FM.

WPOS-FM 102.3, Holland, Ohio is a non-profit Christian radio station that first went on the air in September 1966. It is owned by the Maumee Valley Broadcasting Association.

It is Northwestern Ohio's first full time religious broadcasting radio station. It features a variety of Christian talk and teaching programs as well as Southern Gospel and other Adult Contemporary Christian music. The station operates 24 hours a day and serves Northwestern Ohio and Southeastern Michigan from its studios and transmitter located in Holland, (Toledo) Ohio. The station operates with an effective radiated power of 6000 watts and also operates several translator stations in Northwestern Ohio.

It is affiliated with the VCY Christian Radio Network. It also features programs from Focus On the Family, Jay Sekulow Live, Back to the Bible, Haven Today, Night Sounds as well as others including Charles Stanley, Tony Evans, David Jeremiah, Charles Morris, Billy Graham and others.

WPOS-FM also features upbeat and informative local programming in the morning and weekday afternoons.

The radio station is unique among Christian broadcasters in that it also operates a Christian Activities Center (circa 1982) that serves a wide variety of purposes. The large building contains a gymnasium that also doubles as a concert hall. WPOS also has a smaller meeting place and a complete kitchen facility. WPOS hosts many Southern Gospel Acts and Artists in their Christian Center throughout the year.

The facility is also used as a gym for home schoolers. And other conferences and meetings are hosted by WPOS-FM.

WPOS-FM also can be heard worldwide via streaming audio at www.wposfm.com.

The General Manager is Rick Waldron. The station is a member of the National Religious Broadcasters Association.
