Mullum Malarum (Tamil: முள்ளும் மலரும்) is a 2017 Tamil-language romance Comedy soap opera on Zee Tamil HD,[1][2] starring MunishRaja, Dharsha Gupta, Tejaswini Shekar, Pandi Kamal, Vanitha, Janaki and Balambika. The series marks Munish Rajan's first small screen lead role since 2010 and Tejaswini Shekar, who play the lead roles, are making their Tamil-language debuts with the series. The show replaces Lakshmi Vandhachu and airs Monday to Friday from 27 November 2017 at 6:30PM (IST)[3][4]

Synopsis

It is a story about revolves around two brothers Dharmadurai (Munish Rajan) and Kalaiarasan (Pandi Kamal), Dharmadurai an uneducated blue-collar worker who works relentlessly to improve the financial status of his family but is not taken seriously by his loved ones and his brother Kalaiarasan, an educated professional who is loved and respected by everyone around him.

The show unfolds as the two brothers are on a quest for love and companionship. The twist in the plot is when Mahalakshmi (Tejaswini Shekar) enters their lives. While Kalaiarasan and Mahalakshmi are engaged to be married, fate has other plans in place as Dharmadurai unknowingly comes in the way and this relationship comes to a bitter end.

Casting

This is an uneducated and an educated Brothers and beautiful girl background comedy Love Story, That airs on Zee Tamil HD. Tejaswini Shekar, who play the lead roles of Mahalakshmi, are making their Tamil-language debuts with the series. Nadhaswaram serial Fame Munish Rajan landed in lead role opposite Dharmathurau and Pandi Kamal was selected to second lead role of Kalaiarasan in the Show. Vanitha, Janaki, Balambika and Jayamani was selected to the Important role.

Title

This title was taken from a 1978 Mullum Malarum feature film starring Rajinikanth, Sarath Babu, Fatafat Jayalaxmi and Shoba. The English meaning of this title is The thorn and the flower.
