NGC 6565, also known as ESO 456-70, is a planetary nebula 14 thousand light years away, whose star is dying (the colors and the nebula itself result from a body of gases formed by the stellar winds that have peeled and pushed away the star's outer layers). It is about 13th magnitude and a diny diameter of 8 to 10 arc seconds.
It is located in the constellation Sagittarius.[2]
