Nick Monson

Nick Monson is a pop music writer and producer in Los Angeles, CA and a disciple of DJ White Shadow. Recently Monson has written produced tracks on Lady Gaga's platinum ArtPop album and Selena Gomez's Revival album including the Billboard number one platinum record "Good For You" and "Nobody". Monson has also written and produced for Nick Jonas ("Closer"), Little Mix, R. Kelly, and the Veronicas. Monson has been signed to Maxwell and Carter Publishing and Warner/Chappell Publishing since 2014.

Early life and education

Born in Oakwood, Illinois, Monson moved to Ohio for college to study music recording and audio production at Recording Workshop in Chillicothe. Shortly after finishing, Monson returned to Illinois and began an internship as an engineer at R. Kelly's Chicago based studio, where he worked with Kelly, Faith Evans and on the Shaft soundtrack.

Career

Monson soon moved on to Jive Studio where he became friends with Paul Blair pka DJ White Shadow, who brought him on to help with Lady Gaga's ArtPop, on which he has song credits for seven tracks. In 2014 Monson moved to Los Angeles and was signed to Warner/Chappell[1] where he has worked with Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas, Mike Posner, songwriters Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels and many other artists and writers.[2] Monson was a producer on Gomez' platinum hit "Good For You", as well as "Perfect" and "Nobody".[3]
