Niharika Lyra Dutt

Niharika Lyra Dutt is an Indian actress, theatre artist, and model.[1] She is also a trained classical Indian Dancer.[1] She is best known for her performances in Paatal Lok [2], Choona, and The Bizarre Murder of Mr. Tusker[3].[4]

Personal Life[edit]

Niharika was born in New Delhi into a family of performers. Her father, Avijit Dutt, is a veteran actor, filmmaker, and writer, while her mother, Piu Dutt, is a school teacher and theatre professional. Her sister, Avalokita Dutt, is a filmmaker.

Niharika began performing on stage at a young age, making her debut in Class 3. She developed a deep passion for theatre, which continued throughout her life. She pursued a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi, where she was actively involved in the college’s Drama Society. Her participation in the society allowed her to explore her creative energies on stage. Later, she joined The Drama School, Mumbai.[5]

Career[edit]

Niharika has been a part of in several acclaimed plays, including Turel, Chuhal, and Juliet aur Uska Romeo, among others.

She is well-known for her performances in Paatal Lok, ChItalic textoona, and OTT films such as Music Teacher on Netflix. She has also acted in other well-known web series, including Pushpavalli and Die Trying.[5][6]

She will be starring in Prime Video's up-coming Hindi series Call Me Bae, alongside Ananya Panday, Mini Mathur, Vir Das, and others, set to release in September 2024[7]
