Niumba is a rental apartment directory owned by the TripAdvisor Media Group. The website provides around 334,000 private holiday homes, 22% of which are located in Spain. Niumba's business model is based on putting those who wish to rent their homes in contact with travelers.

History

Niumba was formed in 2005 by Grupo Intercom, with María José González-Barros as the co-founder.[1] In 2013, when Niumba was the market leader for rental apartments in Spain,[2] it was acquired by TripAdvisor.[3]

Although Niumba is a wholly owned subsidiary of TripAdvisor, it continues to operate as an independent brand with offices in Madrid.[4]

Niumba's sister sites for the UK and US market are Holiday Lettings and FlipKey.
