The northern spadefoot toad (Notaden melanoscaphus) is a species of frog in the family Myobatrachidae. It is endemic to Australia. Its natural habitats are dry savanna, moist savanna, subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland, swamps, and intermittent freshwater marshes.
