The Norwegian Food Research Institute (Norwegian: Matforsk) is a food science research institute based in Ås, Norway.

Owned by the independent Agricultural Food Research Foundation, it is physically located close to the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Akvaforsk and Bioforsk. Its purpose is to conduct "contribute to increased profitability in the food industry through food research and development at an internationally recognised level".

The current Managing Director of Matforsk is Øyvind Fylling-Jensen.
