The Ocypodidae are a family of semiterrestrial crabs that includes the ghost crabs and fiddler crabs. Other genera previously included in the family are now treated as members of separate families in the superfamily Ocypodoidea, such as the Ucididae, Dotillidae, and Macrophthalmidae.
They currently include two subfamilies and three genera:[1][2]
- Ocypodinae Rafinesque, 1815
- Ocypode Weber, 1795
- Hoplocypode Sakai & Türkay, 2013
- Ucinae Dana, 1851
- Uca Leach, 1814
