Pandanus thwaitesii is a monocot species of plant in the Pandanaceae family. It is native to India, Sri Lanka.

In culture

"Dunu keyiya" (sinhala).

Leaves

linear, margins and midrib spiny, pleats thin, lateral and ventral; straw-colored spines.

Trunk

prop roots few.

Flowers

Inflorescence- male terminal, spikes, bracts yellow, glossy; female terminal, spikes, rachis zig-zag, bracts yellow, glossy.

Fruits

yellowish green syncarp, pendulous, globose, fetid, surface spiny.

Site

on summits of rocky hills of rain forests, scurb.

Uses

leaves- mats, boxes.
