Pawan Kalyan (born Konidela Kalyan Babu (Telugu: కొణిదెల కళ్యాణ్ బాబు); 2 September 1971) is a Telugu cinema actor and director. His notable movies as an actor include Tholi Prema (1998), Thammudu (1999), Badri (2000) and Khushi (2001)and jalsa(2008). He is the younger brother of actor Chiranjeevi and actor/producer Nagendra Babu. He also directed a film Johnny in which he himself played the lead role and his wife, Renu Desai co-starred with him.
Career
He was introduced to Tollywood as Kalyan Babu with Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi (1996). In his second film Gokulamlo Seetha(1997), he changed his name from Kalyan Babu to Pawan Kalyan. His two movies Suswagatham and Tholi Prema were released in the year 1998 and both were blockbusters. Toliprema gave Pawan a good platform in the industry. Thammudu in 1999 and Badri in 2000 were also well received critically and commercially.With four hits in a row Pawan entered the top league of heroes in Tollyw.ood
He starred in Kushi (2001) with Bhoomika Chawla and in the 2003 movie Johnny with wife Renu Desai. He also acted in Gudumba Shankar (2004), Balu (2005), Bangaram (2006) Annavaram (2007) Jalsa (2008).
In 2012 he is going to do a film on the lines of "Schindlers List and Rudraveena" which is yet to be announced.
Personal life
Pawan Kalyan was first married to Nandini, whom he divorced on 13 August 2008 [2]. He then married Renu Desai with whom he has one son Akira and one baby girl named Aadhya
