The Penha Cable Car, Guimarães Cable Car, Teleférico da Penha, or Teleferico de Guimarães, is a gondola lift that connects the city centre of Guimarães to the summit of the nearby Monte da Penha [pt]. It is operated by the company Turipenha and was the first means of suspended transport to operate in Portugal, being inaugurated in 1995.[1][2]

The 1,700 metres (5,600 ft) route climbs a height difference of 400 metres (1,300 ft) in a journey lasting 10 minutes. From inside, you can see the Penha hillside and a panoramic view of the centre of Guimarães.[1][2]

The cable car is equipped with thirty-two passenger cabins, each with a capacity of six passengers, and eight hybrid cabins, with a capacity of three passengers and three bicycles, suitable for mountain bikers and downhill bikers who use the slopes that descend from the top of the mountain to the city.[1][2]
