Peter Jones was an Australian Rugby League Player, and now behind the scenes in the sport. He is best known for playing for the North Queensland Cowboys from 1995–2002 and for being the team's captain for part of that time.[1][2] He is listed by the Cowboys as one of their players of the decade. Peter played his early football for Tully Tigers.[3]

In 2001 Jones was one of three players who testified against Wests Tigers player John Hopoate, who was found guilty of unsportsmanlike interference, in that Hopoate had inserted his finger into their anuses during the match.[4][5]
