Peter O'Brian (born July 27, 1956) is a New Zealand actor best known for playing Alex Tarambuan in the movie The Intruder. He is not to be confused with the Australian actor Peter O'Brien.

O'Brian has only featured in strictly Indonesian productions. Nearly all of his movies have involved Arizal or the Indonesian producers The Punjabi Brothers; he has also worked closely with Jopi Burnama. According to the Internet Movie Database, The Stabilizer was O'Brian's first movie.

Older news confirmed that Peter was working at a leading English language institute in Jakarta Indonesia, teaching English from 1998 to 2006. Peter was a Market Development Manager for the same leading English language institute called EEP[disambiguation needed] from 2000 to 2006. From 2006 to 2009 Peter took a job as an English teacher at an International High School in Jakarta. In early 2010 Peter was a TOEFL lecturer at Binus International University Jarkarta. In August 2010 Peter returned to New Zealand with his two teenage children because they wanted to go to an English speaking College and experience New Zealand. In September Peter started lecturing at EDENZ Business College in Tauranga. For 3 years, he lectured Business Communications and Organisation and Management. After that he started working as a life coach for Impact Tauranga an alternative education provider and a mentoring agency, where he worked for a year and a half. Peter's next career path was with a Maori organisation called Te Tuinga Whanau where he worked as a mentor manager for 3 years. His current post is with a youth organisation called youthorizons as a caregiver looking after and male role modelling, and attending Faith Bible College at the same time. O'Brian is planning to make a comeback to the screen, and has been offered a role as the British soldier General Cameron, commander at the Battle of Gate Pa.
