Peter O'Leary was a Gaelic football goalkeeper from County Kerry. He played with the Kerry senior them for 10 years mainly in the National League but also played 6 Championship games. He was part of the Kerry team that were shocked by Clare in the 1992 Munster Football final. He won 1 All Ireland Senior medals as a sub in 2000. He had been a substitute in the 1997 triumph also, but did not receive a medal. He also won a National League medal as a sub in 1997. He had much success at under age level with Kerry winning an All Ireland minor medal in 1988 and an Under 21 medal in 1990.

He played his club football with the Killarney Legion club and had great[clarification needed] success. During his playing days Legion became one of the top clubs in Kerry winning a County League Div 1 title in 1993 and a club championship title in 1994 with O'Leary part of the team. In 2005 he helped his team win the Kerry Intermediate Football Championship for the first time.
