Petra Mede (born 7 March 1970) is a Swedish comedian and television host.[1] She grew up in Partille outside of Gothenburg. Mede is known for her roles in comic shows like Morgonsoffan and Parlamentet. She has also tried stand-up comedy on Stockholm Live. In 2009 she hosted Melodifestivalen 2009, where the Swedish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 was chosen.[2] Mede took over the role as host for Melodifestivalen after Kristian Luuk.

Petra Mede was in 2009 voted Sweden's best female comedian. On 28 January 2013, it was announced that Petra will be hosting the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden.[3][4]
