Pod was a prehistoric settlement and hill fort located on a plateau on a slope of Mt Koprivnica near Bugojno in the upper valley of the river Vrbas in modern Bosnia and Herzegovina. The fortified site was first inhabited in the early Bronze Age[1] and even eneolithic (2500 to 1700 BCE).[2] After the Bronze Age it was uninhabited for four centuries, until repopulated in the early Iron Age (~700 BCE)[3] till the turn of the 4th and 3rd centuries BCE.[2] It is the best studied settlement connecting the Bronze Age ‘proto-Illyrians’ with the later Illyrian tribes known from the ancient Greek authors.
