Polar eventually gained prosperity producing Ulvæus' next group, international superstars ABBA. Polar Music is currently owned by Universal Music Group.

The Polar Music Prize, an award for outstanding musical achievement, was created by founder Stig Anderson in 1989, after he sold the label to PolyGram.
