- 1900 – Second Boer War: New South Wales mounted rifles and Western Australian mounted infantry involved in the capture of Diamond Hill, Pretoria, South Africa.
- 1996 – Two Blackhawk helicopters the 5th Aviation Regiment collided at High Range Training Area, killing 18 passengers and crew from SASR and 5th Aviation Regiment.
