- 1945 – World War II: On Bougainville, after crossing the Hongorai River, the 24th, 57th/60th, 58th/59th Infantry Battalions from the 15th Brigade advance through the bush surrounding the Buin Road to clear the Japanese defenders.
- 1968 – Vietnam War: 2nd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment returned to Brisbane on the troopship HMAS Sydney.
