[edit]- 1839 – Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts Railroad is incorporated in Maine.
- 1899 – Southern Railway in the United States inaugurates the Piedmont Limited passenger train service.[1]

[edit]- 1917 – The Pere Marquette Railroad is reincorporated as the Pere Marquette Railway.
- 1924 – Electrification is completed on what is now Hamburg S-Bahn's Line 1 between Ohlsdorf and Poppenbüttel.
