June 29 - THE ARCHBISHOP of Canterbury led thousands of pilgrims to St Albans Abbey in a celebration of the life of the city's saint on Saturday.

Organisers of the event to mark Alban Day say the crowd of more than 3,000 people, which included pilgrims from Italy, Germany, Sweden and Poland, was more than twice the size of that which attended last year's pilgrimage. [1]
