Template:Nihongo title is an upcoming film in Japan, and a continuation of the Professor Layton series. The movie is set to take place directly after the events of Professor Layton and the Specter's Flute, in which Layton's apprentice, Luke, is investigating the concept of immortality. According to Level-5 the movie will stay true to the games, with music, puzzles, and characters.
Plot
At the beginning of the film Layton receives a letter from the famed opera singer, Jenice Kaitly, inviting them to see her newest performance. She also asks Layton, Luke, and Remi for assistance in a mystery, saying her friend Melina went missing one year ago but returned later as a seven year old girl saying she had found the secret of eternal life. Naturally, the case fascinates Layton and his apprentices, so they head to the Crown Petone opera house. When they arrive, something is very strange: the pianist, Ozro Vislar talks of a game, and the winner will win the "eternal life." It is up to Layton, Luke, and Remi to solve the mystery of the Eternal Diva before it is too late.
Characters
Professor Hershel Layton: Professor Layton is a famed puzzle solver. He is no detective, but there are no mysteries he cannot solve. His adventures around the world solving cases brought him much fame, and a very good reputation.
Luke Triton: The self-proclaimed "number one fan" of Professor Layton. Luke follows his teacher everywhere, and is always trying to learn from Layton. Luke has a special talent that allows him to speak to animals.
Remi Altava: A beautiful Asian assistant of Professor Layton. She is very knowledgeable, and is described as a heroine.
Jenice Kaitly: A famed opera singer who requests Professor Layton's puzzle solving skills. She is known to have a beautiful voice, and is presumed to be the "Eternal Diva".
Ozro Vislar: The antagonist of the movie. He is the pianist at the Crown Petone, but he has set up a trap in the theatre. He claims the winner of his game will be granted the "eternal life".
Flora Reinhold: A wealthy heiress to the Reinhold fortune, but decided to give up the wealth for the company of Layton and Luke. Her exact role in the film in unknown, but she can be seen in the third commercial being frightened by Don Paolo. This contradicts her role in Professor Layton and the Curious Village—particularly since the events happen around 3 years before both Professor Layton and Luke meet up with her, but there's the possibility that part or parts of the movie might be flashbacks.
Don Paolo: A genius scientist who was banned from the academy for his evil ideas. He calls Layton his greatest enemy. His exact role in the film is unknown, but he can be spotted in the third commercial leaping off the Tower Bridge in London with an invention of his.
Inspector Chelmey: The most feared man in all of London. Criminals flee at the sound of his name. Chelmey is the head detective at Scotland Yard, and often competes with Layton to see who is a better detective. His exact role in the film in unknown, but he can be spotted trying to apprehend Don Paolo at the Tower Bridge in London.
Doctor Andrew Schrader: The Professor who taught Layton all there is to know about puzzle solving. Although he isn't seen in the trailer, he is to be in the film teaching Layton more about Ambrosia, which is the mythical substance that grants immortality to all who consume it.
