Prothoracic gland

The prothoracic glands are either of a pair of endocrine glands located in the prothorax of certain insects that regulate moltingTemplate:Or what?. They have an ectodermal origin and secrete ecdysteroids, such as ecdysone and 20-hydroxyecdysone.
