Pseudohemiodon apithanos is a species of armored catfish endemic to Ecuador where it occurs in the San Miguel River basin. (Kasaraset) This species grows to a length of 14.5 centimetres (5.7 in) SL. -They are not endemic to San Miguel in Ecuador - I saw them personally in riachos around Rio Nanay in Perú...its close to Iquitos, where is Aquarium Mommon, held by Martin Mortenthaler who is selling them occasionally . They grow larger - big ones can reach 16–17 cm.
