Pusuke (1 April 1985 – 5 December 2011), a Shiba Inu breed dog from Japan, was thought to be the world's oldest dog from December 2010 until his death in December 2011, according to the Guinness World Records.[1] As of 2011, he was the tenth oldest dog ever recorded.[2][3]

According to his owner, Pusuke had been active, healthy and fit up to the day he died, when he suddenly lost his appetite and experienced difficulty breathing. He died a few hours later, at the age of 26 years.[1]
