Pusuke (プースケ in katakana or ぷうすけ in hiragana, 1 April 1985 – 5 December 2011) was a Japanese Shiba Inu who, according to the Guinness World Records, was the world's oldest dog from December 2010 until his death in December 2011.[1] As of 2011, he was the eighth-oldest dog ever recorded.[2]

According to his owner, Ms. Shinohara, Pusuke had been active, healthy and fit up to the day he died, when he suddenly lost his appetite and experienced difficulty breathing. He died a few hours later, at the age of 26 years, 248 days.[1]
