Radius is a software company that provides a marketing platform for targeting small businesses.[1] The company tracks and collects information from hundreds of thousands of sources about more than 25 million small businesses in the United States.[2][3] The company has publicly stated it plans to build products that are directly competitive with Dun & Bradstreet.[4]

History[edit]

Founded in 2009, Radius started out as purely a data company focused on aggregating location data and in April 2012 launched publicly.[5]

By 2014, Radius has been funded by American Express, BlueRun Ventures, and Formation 8. The company has publicly announced three rounds of funding: $6.75 million for the seed round, $12.4 million for the Series A round,[6] and $13 million for the Series B round.[7]

On July 29, 2015, Radius announced a $50 million investment (Series C) by Founders Fund, AME Cloud Ventures, Formation 8, and Salesforce Ventures.[8][9]

In May 2018, the company announced its intention to merge with Leadspace.[10] In September 2019, Kabbage announced that it acquired Radius.[11]

Darian Shirazi[edit]

Darian Shirazi (Persian: داریان شیرازی‎, born December 23, 1986) is the main founder of Radius.[12][13][14][15][16][17][18] At age 19, he became the first intern hired by Facebook.[19][20][21][22] He is related to Dara and Hassan Khosrowshahi.[23]
