Raja Ramesh is a 1977 Telugu, drama film, produced by M. Seshagiri Rao on Suguna Pictures banner[2] and directed by V. Madhusudhan Rao.[3] Starring Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Vanisri in the lead roles and music composed by K. V. Mahadevan.[4] The film is remake of Bengali Movie Sanyasi Raja (1975) which is based on the real life incident of Bhawal case.

Plot

Raja Rameshchandra Bhupathi (Akkineni Nageswara Rao), the Zamindar of an estate was a man with a romantic bent of mind and loved playing chess, his wife Rani Indumathi Devi (Vanisri) thought that he never cared about her but her opinion was wrong. A Doctor Seshagiri (Jaggayya) who was helped by the Raja Ramesh during his student days took shelter in the palace and then tried to kill him and he then threatened Rani. During the cremation time a heavy rain comes and the body of Raja has driven away, astoundingly he was alive and saved by a monk but the doctor by this time managed to occupy the whole estate. Raja Ramesh returned and demanded his state back from the doctor. The film is about the struggle that the Raja had to undergo before he was able to get back all that he had lost.
