Ramesh is a common Hindu name. "Ramesh", combination of Ramaa+Ish, means Ishwar (God) of Ramaa (Parvati, Lord Shiva's wife). Also Ramesh means "Preserver" or "the One who Saves from Danger". would refer to Lord Vishnu. In Persian, "Ramesh" is derived from Pahlavi origin "Ramishn", meaning "happiness".
