The red-vented malimbe (Malimbus scutatus) is a species of bird in the Ploceidae family. It is found in Benin, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Togo. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical swamps.
