Reeve Carney (born April 18, 1983) is an American singer-songwriter and actor. He appeared in the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark as the character of Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

Early life

Carney was born and raised in the West Village[1] neighborhood of Lower Manhattan, New York City, USA, with his brother Zane and sister Paris. His great uncle was the late actor Art Carney.

Carney attended the Academy of Music at Alexander Hamilton High School in Los Angeles with his brother, Zane and future band mates Aiden Moore and Jon Epcar.[2] He went on to study at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, majoring in studio jazz guitar.[3]

Career

At age 15, Carney was playing guitar professionally at B.B King's night club in Los Angeles, California.[4]

His first band, Reeve Carney and the Revolving Band, consisted of brother Zane, sister Paris, JD Lipscomb (Aiden Moore) on bass and Gavin Salmon on drums, and toured extensively with blues legend Jonny Lang while Reeve simultaneously played guitar in Lang's band. His second band, Carney,[5] consisted of Reeve, Zane on guitar, Aiden Moore on bass and Jon Epcar on drums. Carney released their debut album, "Mr. Green Vol. 1", in May 2010. The band opened for Arcade Fire and U2 in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada on July 30 on the final date of the U2 360° Tour.

Carney has also been named a Givenik Ambassador.[8]

Carney played Taylor Swift's love interest in her "I Knew You Were Trouble" music video.[9]
