Reewa Rathod is an Indian singer. Her first public performance came as the opening act for a Bryan Adams concert in 2011 in Pune, where she sang her own song "Crossing Limits."[1][2] In January 2013, she was showcased in her first solo concert.

She's studied Carnatic music from Prasanna Varrior, a senior disciple of Balamani Aiyyar; Hindustani classical music training came from the duo Rajan-Sajan Misra and she’s cleared eight levels of piano from the Royal Associated Board of Music, London.[citation needed]

Life and career

1991–1996: Early life and career beginnings

Reewa Rathod (also known as Surshree) was born in Mumbai to singers Roop Kumar Rathod and Sunali Rathod. At the age of four, she sang the Meera bhajan Payoji Maine Ram Ratan Dhan Payo at the Tejpal Hall in Mumbai.[3] Her grandfather, the Late Pandit Chaturbhuj Rathod, was a well known Dhrupad Dhamar vocalist of the Aditya Gharana of Jamnagar. Her paternal uncles Shravan Rathod and Vinod Rathod are well-known music composers and singers respectively in the Indian film industry.

1996–2012: Breakthrough and musical beginnings

She performed at the Doon School’s Rose Bowl in 2012 and also at Saptrang 2014. She was conferred with the Sur Jytosna National Music Award in its first year of institution.[4]

2013–present: Film projects and Stars Dance

Reewa also composed and sang a song ‘Tandaana’ for a Spanish production, Traces of Sandalwood, starring Nandita Das which was released in the latter half of 2014.[5]

Reewa is also doing an Indipop Song with well known Indipop producer Ranjit Barot.

Personal

In her free time, Reewa likes to spend time in nature and with her dog Max. She's also an accomplished horse rider and loves to cook.[citation needed]
