Remote infrastructure management

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by W Nowicki (talk | contribs) at 20:23, 28 October 2016 (not clear it is notable, but is clear it is not infrastructure). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Remote infrastructure management (RIM) refers to remotely managing information technology (IT) hardware and software, such as workstations (desktops, laptops, notebooks, etc.), servers, network devices, storage devices, IT security devices, etc. of a company. In this sense it has nothing to do with normal infrastructure.

Major sub-services included in RIM are:

  • Service desk / Help desk
  • Proactive monitoring of server and network devices
  • Workstation Management
  • Server Management
  • Storage management
  • Application support
  • IT security Management
