Reyes Abades (25 July 1949 – 1 February 2018) was a Spanish specialist in special effects. He won nine Goya Awards.[3] Abades worked on more than 300 productions. He contributed to the opening and closing ceremonies for the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.[4] He died of a heart attack at age 68.[5][6]

He has two children with María Ruano, Óscar and César, who are also visual effect artists.[7]
