Richard Michael Barroilhet (born 29 August 1992) is a England-born French-Chilean professional footballer who plays for Magallanes on loan from O'Higgins. Barroilhet's versatility enables him to play in various positions including offensive midfield and attack .

Career

Born in Westminster, England, but grew up in France, Barroilhet joined Nice, where he came through the youth system and after two years at the club, Barroilhet went to England, where he was invited to join Fulham youth system.[1]

He was offered his first professional contract at Fulham and following injury he went on loan to Finnish side VPS[2] to get some game time.[3]

In July 2012, Barroilhet moved to RKC Waalwijk in the Eredivisie.[4] After injury and treatment during 2013, Barroilhet joined Nuneaton Town in November 2013.[5] Just 25 days after signing for Nuneaton Town, Barroilhet left the club.[6] Barroilhet went on trial with FC Taraz of the Kazakhstan Premier League in January 2014,[7] going on to sign for the club in March of the same year.[8] In May, the Dutch manager Arno Piipers, who took some players including Barroilhet to Taraz for his project, was dismissed. At the beginning of June, following changes in management, conditions, playing time, Barroilhet negotiated a mutual release.[9] Following play time in Etoile Frejus in France and a Utrecht-based side in Holland, Barroilhet joined Montpellier MHSC a L1 team in France where he is currently playing as an attacker.

Following a successful and fully dedicated season in the reserve team at Montpellier promising promotion to the first team, Barroilhet opted to go for senior level game time by successfully trialling in division 1 clubs in Chile. The first club to trial him ( O'Higgins) promptly offered a contract and signed him in June 2017.

International career

Barroilhet has three caps for the France U-19 team.[10]
