Richard Deitsch
Richard Deitsch is an American sportswriter. He wrote for Sports Illustrated from 1997 until 2018.[1] Currently, he writes for the online publication The Athletic as well as does radio in Toronto.[2]
Deitsch has a B.A. in communications and political science from the University at Buffalo and an M.S. from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.[1] He is currently an adjunct professor at Columbia.
During the 2008-09 academic year, he was at the University of Michigan, studying as a Knight-Wallace Fellow. While there, he examined the intersection of 20-somethings and the sports blogosphere.[1]
Deitsch is known for his criticism of several prominent sports media figures, including Darren Rovell, Jason Whitlock, Clay Travis, Skip Bayless, and Piers Morgan.[3]
On February 22, 2018, it was announced that Deitsch is relocating to Toronto to co-host Prime Time Sports, a 4-7pm radio program on Sportsnet 590 on a part-time basis. PTS is hosted by Bob McCown.[2]
