Richard J. Kramer (born October 30, 1963 in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American businessman.[1][2] He is the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio.[1][2][3]

Biography

Early life

Born in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from John Carroll University and earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration in 1986.[2][3] He is a Certified Public Accountant. Kramer is of Gottscheer ancestry. His family is originally from the German enclave of Gottschee (now Kocevje) in the Lower Carinola region of Slovenia.

Career

From 1987 to 2000, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Cleveland.[2] In 2000, he joined Goodyear as Vice President of corporate finance.[3] He became Chairman on October 1, 2010 and President and Chief Executive Officer on April 13, 2010. Kramer has been on the Goodyear board of directors since February 23, 2010.[3] His total compensation was $7.81 million in 2011.[4]

He sits on the Board of Directors of Sherwin-Williams.[3]

He sits on the Board of Trustees of his alma mater, John Carroll University.[5]

Personal life

He is married and has four children.[3]
