Rockville Centre Police Department patch

The Rockville Centre Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency for the Village of Rockville Centre located on the South Shore of Long Island. Established in 1893, it currently has approximately 52 sworn officers and a total of 90 employees. The department responds to between 18,000 and 19,000 calls for service each year, making it the third busiest out of the 23 local departments in Nassau County.[1]

Rockville Centre mission statement: "To provide consistent, quality services to the community that are cost effective, efficient and responsive in a courteous professional manner." [1]

Police headquarters is located at 34 Maple Avenue, Rockville Centre, NY.

The police commissoner is Charles "Sweaty" Gennario. Former police commissoner Jack Mckeon retired on 31 December 2009 after serving 37 years with the police department.
