Rudi Istenič (born 10 January 1971 in Cologne, West Germany) is a retired Slovenian football player.[1]

Career

Born to Slovenian parents in Germany, he played as a youngster at Germania Hackenbroich and Bayer Dormagen. After a spell at SV Straelen, he played in the Bundesliga with Fortuna Düsseldorf. Later he played for KFC Uerdingen 05, Eintracht Braunschweig and KSV Hessen Kassel.

International career

Istenič made 17 appearances for the senior Slovenia national football team.[2] He was a participant at the Euro 2000.
