The rufous-headed chachalaca (Ortalis erythroptera) is a species of bird in the Cracidae family. It is found in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, and plantations . It is threatened by habitat loss.
