"Salvation", written by Per Gessle, is the fourth single from the Have a Nice Day album by the Swedish duo Roxette. The single was released in November 1999.

Song information

"Salvation" is a ballad with instruments like acoustic guitars, piano, choir and drum machine. It was released around Christmas time, because it has a Christmas sound. The B-sides of "Salvation" single are "See Me" and "Crazy About You" (marked as Crash Boom Bang version not to be confused with the demo version from You Don't Understand Me single), both outtakes from Crash! Boom! Bang! album. The single includes also the video of "Stars".

Song Success

"Salvation" was the third single from Have A Nice Day to enter the Finnish Top 20 (it also got good airplay in Finland). In Germany and Sweden, on the other hand, it charted at quite low positions (#80, #46). "Salvation" also didn't get as much airplay as the previous singles. The Spanish version "Lo Siento" got some minor airplay in Spanish-speaking countries.

Music video

The video for "Salvation" was directed by Dutch director Anton Corbijn. The shooting took place in Naples and Amalfi (Italy) in October 1999.
